About the event
We will explore the work (prose, poetry, plays, interviews, music, art, etc.) of both disabled and nondisabled artists who demonstrate important concepts within the eld of disability with the hopes of steering students away from its stale cliches and towards its vibrant reality.
Instead of engaging with disabled literature from the guise of the able-bodied—where disabled expression/existence is a bold striving towards able-bodiedness—we will learn how to be students in the school of disability, where disability is a complex, natural phenomenon whose subtleties demand our full attention.
